Denice Traina, District One candidate for Commissioner opposes the lack of oversight, transparency and waste of taxpayer monies on this project. See the 15 points analysis by Al Gray.
AUGUSTA CHRONICLE
METRO SPIRIT
TO METRO SPIRIT: My neighbor who took beekeeping classes with me was actually awaiting approval of her SSI status not going back to school and that the sales of honey along with her preserves and canned foods were meant to supplement her income in the meantime. Also I don't recall making a comment about not asking permission to use the PUBLIC space at the depot.
I had mentioned my intent to announce my candidacy to a transit worker probably a week prior during planning when I asked about foot traffic at the facility. It is often times easier to ask for forgiveness than permission but neither was the case this go around. Public space is owned by the people and governed by the very body (City Commission) I wish to represent.
Thank you,
Denice Traina
Candidate, District One Commission
5-23-2012 marked the deadline for the U.S. Department of Justice to pre-clear Senate Bill 82, which moved the dates of Augusta Commission and Richmond County school board races to July. Justice did not clear the law, so the elections remain in November 6, 2012.
New District 1 lines ready.
